UEFA recognized FC Elva with 2019 Europes Best Grassroots Club bronze award

Every year UEFA chooses from Europes football clubs three best ones to recognize them with UEFA Best Grassroots Awards prize. This year they awarded Alternative Sports Club ZŁY (Poland, gold), SV Donau Klagenfurt (Austria, silver) and FC Elva (Estonia, bronze).

UEFA highlighted/singled out FC Elva for strong community, promoting a healthy lifestyle and operating successfully in a small town. The award will be given to FC Elva today on the 13th of October at the Estonia-Germany EM Qualification match. The club will also receive 100 footballs as a gift.

FC Elva was founded in the year 2000 and in the club there are 27 trainers and employees, there are about 575 members (girls, boys, women, men). The football clubs

FC Elva is an active event and tournament organizer, for example, their annual Jalkafest (football festival) brings together about a thousand people.

“We are very happy that UEFA chose FC Elva out of all the clubs in Europe. It is a great recognition and reflects what others in Estonia in the football community have seen all those years – Elva is an active club and well organized, consistent development of youth football, community work through different joint activities and setting bigger goals than just sports” said Estonian FA president Aivar Pohlak.
